Tupelo Honey – A Very Rare Treat!

IMG_4615.jpgsquareWe have a rare treat! Tupelo honey made on the Choctawhatchee River in North Florida. Tupelo honey is prized around the world as arguably the finest honey there is. It is made from the nectar of the white tupelo gum tree that is found in densities high enough to produce a crop of honey in only one region of swamps and river basins of North Florida and South Georgia. The fragile blooms last only 3 weeks on a good year and less on bad years. The last two years the tupelo bloom has been very poor and this year wasn’t too great either. Real Tupelo honey is hard to come by so when our friend and fellow beekeeper brought his bees up and produced a small batch of Tupelo honey we jumped at a chance to buy a bucket of this liquid gold from him. We have a very limited supply of 8 oz. and 1 lb. classic muth jars with cork tops and sealed with beeswax. A beautiful container to hold a very beautiful honey. Call us if you want to get one before they are gone! 727-698-1130
